With the plot chronicling approximately three weeks of the lives of the characters, season 2 directly follows the prison break from the first season. There were 22 episodes of the second season which premiered on August 21, 2006 with its first part dealing with the journey of escapees to their homes, Westmoreland’s booty and Michael’s plan to escape the country. Second part of the series dealt with the conspiracy hatched by the Company. The season opener was entitled ‘Manhunt’ where a new character, FBI Special Agent Alexander Mahone is introduced as he is assigned the task of arresting the escapees who are now heading towards Oswego, Illinois.

T-Bag manages to get medical aid for his amputated hand. FBI interrogates Sara after she pulls through her morphine overdose. Veronica is killed at the hands of the agents of the Company just as she discovers that Terrence Steadman is kept captive in an estate. The next episode was ‘Otis’ where Michael and Lincoln bid goodbye to Sucre, C-Note and Abruzzi. While trying to rescue L.J from prison, Lincoln is shot in the leg and L.J is sent to detention center in Arizona. T-Bag kills the vet after he reattaches his hand. In the episode named ‘Scan’ Michael and Lincoln stage their own death using a car explosion. Despite knowing that authorities are keeping an eye on their loved ones, Sucre looks for Maricruz and C-Note searches for his family. Sara is accused of aiding the escapees and arrested but her father bails her out and she is ordered to attend daily meetings of AA.

After getting discharged for unlawful dealing with prisoners, Bellick turns into a bounty hunter along with Geary and starts searching for Michael and Lincoln. The next episode ‘First Down’ is about Abruzzi who is shot down by a police officer when he fails to surrender. Bellick and Geary catches up with Michael, Nika and Lincoln and forces them to take them along in their pursuit of money hidden by Westmoreland in Utah. Mahone discovers that Lincoln and Michael are still alive and Kellerman tries to make friends with Sara under a pseudonym. A stranger offers lift to T-Bag.[Read More...]
