Early Life
 

Knepper was brought up in Maumee, Ohio (Toledo), by his father (a veterinarian) and mother (who was into community theatre). Following his mother’s footsteps, Knepper, too, did a lot of community theatre and productions of high school. In 1977, he graduated from the Maumee High School and went on to study drama at the Northwestern University. Just when he was about to complete his degree course, he left Northwestern and went to work in theatre in the New York City. Although he was never much interested in films and television, he jumped into the acting field with The Paper Chase and That’s Life!

Career
Films in which Knepper worked were, Renegades, Young Guns II, Gas Food Lodging, Hostage, The Transporter 3 and Good Night and Good Luck, Everyone Says I Love You and D.O.A. Lately he has appeared on the film adaptation of the game, Hitman in 2007.

   On television, Knepper made appearances on show like: Undercover, Tour of Duty, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, ER, Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, La Femme Nikita, New York L.A. Law, Profiler, South Beach, Murder, She Wrote, CSI: Miami and The West Wing. His best known work, till date remain in the Fox TV show, Prison Break.

Prison Break
On the prison drama show Prison Break, Knepper, enacts the character of "Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell", for which he was even nominated for a Satellite Award. He was a part of the original escape plan of Michael, but soon they parted ways, only to collide several times in future. He is a shrewd, vicious and scheming psychopath whose abilities are often overlooked by others.
