Life
In her early age, Sarah moved with her family to Honolulu, Hawaii. Sarah had a great interest in acting which she expressed by participating in various school plays at Punahou School. Rather than following her parental footprints and getting into the teaching field, Sarah selected acting as a career.
Sarah joined Dartmouth College in Hanover (New hemisphere) and graduated in 1999 with an undergraduate emphasis in Feminist studies and a senior fellowship in indigenous Theology. She then joined the Denver's National Theater Conservatory and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from this institution.
Career
As Kate O’Malley, she appeared for first time on television, on the CBS show “Queens Supreme”. Callies first starring role was on The WB’s series Tarzan as Detective Jane Porter. She then made various guest appearances on shows like Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Numb3rs and Dragnet.
Stewart Hendler’s “Whisper” for Universal pictures and Barnet Bain’s independent movie ‘The Celestine Prophecy”, are the two film projects in which Callies has acted.
Prison break
Sarah Wayne Callies got a starring role in Fox's Prison break as prison doctor Sara Tancredi. She was the daughter of the governor of Illinois. She was Michael’s love interest in the show and one of the strongest characters of the series.
Personal Life
Josh Winterhalt is her husband whom she married on June 21, 2002. On January 23, 2007 she became a mother after she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl Keala.
