Early Years and Personal Life
Miller’s father, Wentworth Earl Miller II, is a teacher and a solicitor, , who was attending Oxford being a Rhodes Scholar at the time of his birth while his mother Roxann is a special education teacher. Coming from a mixed ethnic background, Miller’s father’s ancestry comprises of, German, English, African-American, Jewish and Jamaican ethnicity. His mother’s background is of Dutch, Russian, Lebanese, Syrian as well as French. He has two siblings, sisters named Gillian and Leigh.

When Miller was just a year old, his family shifted to New York at Park Slope, Brooklyn and he still has a dual citizenship of both the nations. Wentworth later studied at Midwood High School situated in Brooklyn, New York. He has been a member of the yearly musical production of Midwood, named SING! He attained his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the Princeton University where he was active part of the Princeton Tigertones, a cappella group.

Career
Miller came to Los Angeles in 1995 for taking up acting as a career and his big break came quite later on Dinotopia (2002), an ABC mini- series where he enacted the character of David, a shy and perceptive person. He then made some guest and cameo appearances on TV shows like Time of Your Life (1999), Popular (2000), ER (2000),in 2003, he appeared in the movie, The Human Stain where he played the character of younger Coleman Silk in which he worked really hard as he felt a connection with the story line.
He also worked on films like, Romeo & Juliet (2000), Room 302 (2001), Underworld (2003), The Confession (2005) and Stealth (voice over, 2005).
On Main-stream television, Miller appeared for the first time in 1998, during the episode "Go Fish" of the second season of hit TV teen drama, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, portraying the role of Gage Petronzi, a sea monster who was earlier a student.
Other shows in which worked were, Joan of Arcadia (2005), Ghost Whisperer (2005). His best known work, however, is on the drama series, Prison Break which premiered in 2005 and is running in its fourth season.
He has also made appearances as a guest at a party in a couple of Mariah Carey’s music videos titled, "We Belong Together" and "It's Like That" where he worked with Brett Ratner, the director of Prison Break’s pilot episode.

Prison Break
In Prison Break, Wentworth Miller enacts the lead character of Michael Scofield who draws up a plan to save his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) who is the prime accused in the murder case of the brother of the Vice President of the United States. Although he never committed the crime, he is proved guilty and sentenced to death. So Michael gets into the prison himself and helps his brother to run away.
Miller’s outstanding performance led to his nomination in 2005 for the Golden Globe Award in the category, Best Actor in a Dramatic Series.
